Script to add network printers windows 7

I have been using a script for years to add drives on logon, guess what it wont work with win 7! It seems to be a permission problem , it opens a dialogue box which requires an input from the user then it runs a download to add the driver. Any ideas? Apart from this it networks fine.

PS personally I would stay with XP but those up top Core Zero Creative, Inc. Line 1 adds the printer in Windows, Line 2 sets it as the default Windows printer. You can add as many printers as you want using Line 1. Can you give me this script, I would love to use it on my domain to map network printers for my users.

I have been looking all morning for a simple way to let users map this LPT printer, which is shared from an old XP desktop who has LPT printer anymore any way. Hi can you send me the script please, my problem at the moment is I am in the process of changing the naming convention to all our printers but I would like to do it and when employee next logon to the system it is automatically updated without people have to do anything?

Thank you so much for this. I was not aware I could map printers like that. We have a computer here on our network used by lots of people throughout the day and recently the hard drive crashed. I was dreading having to contact each person who uses that machine to remap their printers.

This script works perfectly fine for Win7 64, but I am having serious trouble to get it working on 32bit windows. Don't understand why it wont execute, it errors on locating the driver. Driver location is accurate so i am baffled.

Charlie Klausen Independent Advisor. Hi JDem, We should be able to accomplish this, given you know the printer server name, and the names of the printers you are trying to add. I just made some recently for this very purpose. Just need to locate them. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site.

I think may actually be over thinking this one. Open up notepad. In reply to Charlie Klausen's post on June 6,
